MEXICAN SARDINE RUN EXPEDITION
SEASON 2025
An Epic Adventure in the Pacific
Each year, between October and December, millions of sardines migrate from the southern end of Isla Margarita to the north, near Isla Magdalena, forming massive schools known as bait balls. This large-scale migration does not go unnoticed—an impressive variety of marine predators and seabirds follow this moving feast.
During this journey of up to 30 miles offshore, you’ll have the opportunity to witness spectacular hunting scenes:
-
Thousands of common and bottlenose dolphins swimming in harmony
-
Humpback, fin, and Bryde’s whales breaking the surface
-
Sea lions, tuna, dorado, and striped marlin in full action
-
Seabirds such as pelicans, frigatebirds, diving ducks, gulls, terns, and petrels plunging into the bait balls
Experience a wild and thrilling adventure on our Bait Ball Expedition, a unique natural phenomenon that takes place in the open waters of the Pacific Ocean, off Bahía Magdalena and Bahía Almejas.

In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel at strategic locations where you can swim among fish and witness this underwater spectacle from a unique perspective.
